This course examines and engages critically with core theories and research within the sociology of sport. It explores the role sport plays as a vehicle for social change and justice, and in producing, reproducing, and transforming culture and society. Note that this course is an upper division course in sociology that requires familiarity with the main theoretical traditions and concepts used in the discipline.
