Ideally, I would love to start my own non-profit organization for at-risk youth or those coming out of the prison system. I am still undecided about whether I want to pursue a Ph.D. at this point.

Before the Program

I am originally from Olympia, WA. After I graduated high school I packed up and moved to Montana to attend college. I graduated with my BS in criminal justice and sociology with a minor in women’s studies from Montana State University-Billings May 2015.

Why Humboldt Public Sociology

I liked the location (and weather!), the small program and the emphasis on the practicing track. The other programs I applied to seemed too “stuffy” and I just didn’t get a very good feeling from those I spoke to. When I called and emailed to inquire about Humboldt’s program I was greeted so warmly and everyone I spoke to was so welcoming, it felt like a good fit.
