Professor and Department Chair
Joshua S. Meisel is a Professor of Sociology and co-founded the Humboldt Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research at Cal Poly Humboldt. His research focuses on the sources and consequences of cannabis policy. This has included examinations of visual representations of the cannabis industry, student employment in cannabis related jobs, and news media coverage of cannabis farmers. Dr. Meisel co-edited “The Routledge Handbook of Post-Prohibition Handbook of Cannabis Research.” He received his Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
