Ashley Hernandez

BA Student - Teaching Assistant

Biography:

Born and raised in Sacramento Ca, specifically about a ten minute drive to the Capital of California. I grew up wondering why in my community there was an abundance of diverse people but when we drove a 5 minute, over a bridge into a whole new community there was a clear difference in neighborhoods, education, resources, and opportunities. Wanting to understand my experience led me to want to learn about the U.S. government, society, and all the effects it had on me and my community and the world at large. Therefore, I began my journey interning in Summer at Sacramento City Hall.

I knew that my higher education had to involve something I was passionate about and wanted to learn. I declared my major in Sociology because of the many avenues and paths I can take with a Sociology Degree.

My favorite part about Humboldt are all the views: Forest, Ocean, grass fields filled with cows. I also enjoy swimming, watching the sun set, stargazing after sunset, eating good food, and organizing. I put my best foot forward when it comes down to helping others who need help. I am passionate about the work I do, including helping patrons who come across an issue/question/concerns. You can contact me through my email or swing by our office and say hi! I look forward to meeting you all!
