Before the Program
After a long career in banking, I embarked on a career change by attending CSU East Bay and ultimately was awarded a BA in Sociology. While getting a MA was not directly in my overall plan, circumstances prevailed that made furthering my education a viable option.
Thesis
My thesis is centered on an evaluation of the LiveScribe Echo smartpen; a tool provided by Student Disability Resource Center (SDRC) at Humboldt to assist those with either physical or cognitive issues that impact their note-taking abilities. The evaluation also extends to the effectiveness of the LiveScribe training program at SDRC.
Why Humboldt Public Sociology
I spent a fair amount of time in my banking career as a corporate trainer thus the teaching option within the Sociology program presented a strong appeal. On my first visit to the campus, it just felt like it was the right choice.
