Education/Career Goals

Work for a nonprofit and travel the world. My dream job would be to work for VICE Media and travel the world while conducting investigative journalism of controversial topics and alternate communities around the globe to meet inspirational individuals.

Before the Program

I was an administrative assistant at a nonprofit community clinic for two years where we helped the underserved and underrepresented low-income populations in the San Fernando Valley.

Why Humboldt Public Sociology

This program resounded with my belief that all underrepresented communities need to be empowered in order to create a strong presence in societies that otherwise render their voices silent. I strongly believe that there is strength in numbers and to fight oppressive socio-political institutions and/or systems, as Public Sociologists, our duty is to awaken the public from the veil of false consciousness that has made us lethargic.

About Humboldt Public Sociology

Bond with your cohort because you all need each others support to get through this program. Your cohort will be your bedrock that has the capacity to inspire you to persevere.
